This is quite unexpected… I only intended to read the rest of Volume 5 raw, but I ended up scanlating it too. It just seems like a shame not to, since it was so nearly completely scanlated. But phew. I don’t have a lot of time so I’m going to only upload the full Volume 05 now (the first chapter was done by Shoujo Magic, which I have included) and if you already have the Shoujo Magic v05 C01 and want mine separately I guess I’ll upload it separately later.

Notes: First of all, on page 145 I made an error because I was reading it as I was scanlating it. So I didn’t know what happened ahead which can mean your translations for previous pages end up being slightly wrong. Anyway, on page 144/145 I assumed Yuzuru was speaking of the many Rikkas that Izumi had devoured, but it turns out he was only talking about the two Rikkas present at the time. So, I put that Izumi devoured all the Rikkas, when Yuzuru actually devoured them both. I don’t have the time to fix it now but I might do later. There’s also a line somewhere I just couldn’t figure out and what I translated it as makes no sense in context but it’s probably not too noticeable. I might fix that later, too.

Most importantly, there is a particularly interesting translation note for people interested in kanji and Chinese/Japanese script so stick round right to the end. I felt so proud I figured out what was going on with this really obscure kanji, haha. The credits/translation notes page is boring but I was rushing it since I marathoned the whole scanlation. It was a real rush job. I only bothered to edit and translate one SFX, haha. Height of laziness. Also, my redrawing and cloning wasn’t too great, major rush job, but luckily there wasn’t much to do and on the whole this was pretty easy to translate and edit.

Also, I said I’d re-scanlate some of Tenshi no Uta but I’ve just been so busy. I am really going for high quality so redrawing, cloning and editing every single SFX is taking quite a while. It might still happen but if not, there are still the scanlations from other groups which, while being of slightly lower quality, are fine for reading. I’m just doing scanlation for fun, although I hate it when scanlators drop a manga right before completion and nobody else picks it up, so if I feel like it I may end up scanlating the ends of other almost-completely-scanlated manga like I did for Mizu ni Sumu Hana. Hello, it’s been a while!

Well, as you may well know, I pretty much closed this group in 2008, for many reasons. Since then I co-created another group (which I don’t really want to return to as I ran it with my boyfriend at the time) and then that went on hiatus too, for similar reasons to last time. I joined a group after that but I wasn’t satisfied by their standards so I stopped working there. I now find myself in a position where I want to keep working in scanlation, both because I love manga and I want to share it, and because I need to practise my Japanese. Working in a group doesn’t really appeal to me – I’m not trying to make this an industrial operation, and I like being able to trust that I will be 100% satisfied with the work of everyone (i.e. me) on the scanlations I release. I also only want to scanlate manga I really really want to work on and having no deadlines but the ones I set myself. I’m not interested in scanlating licensed works anymore. As such, all links to La Corda D’Oro will now be deleted from this site. I beg you to please, please, please buy the English copies and support your favourite mangaka so they can keep making the manga you love.

So now I’m reviving Shoujo Yume purely on my own as a personal project. I’m going to be re-scanlating what’s already been released of Tenshi no Uta (Angel Voice). It’s currently a Transcendence project. I don’t intend to compete with them, although if I get to where they are and I think it would speed up their releases I’d be very happy to do a joint. The thing with my choice of project is that, I read the raws of this manga, the whole thing, and I really really loved what happens in the currently unscanlated chapters. I love this manga enough to want to share the earlier chapters in HQ, as I have better scans than those used early on in the scanlations, and I believe the other scanlations used Chinese scans, so their translation is not quite as faithful. I don’t intend to insult groups who’ve worked on Tenshi no Uta in the past. I only want to share my love of this manga.

Anyway, provided I have the time, I may also pick up other projects, whether unscanlated or neglected/dropped. That really depends on my spare time and what scans I can get my hands on.

Anyhoo, I’m going to wait and release the first volume as a batch, and see how it goes from there. I don’t think there’s going to be a lot of demand since it’s already scanlated, so I’ll probably just release it in volume batches.

Yup, I made a mistake on Page 30. Since Tsukimori and Tsuchiura’s names both begin with the same syllable, I mixed them up while typesetting and was in such a rush to get the chapter out, I didn’t even notice. Anyway, I’ve changed the links around the site to Version 2 so any new downloads have had the mistake rectified. I’ll also post links to the full V2 below and the separate page which was wrong in case you don’t want to download the whole thing again.

Ahhh, in the end, it was later than I expected… I’m afraid I rushed editing a bit to get it out quicker, so I didn’t translate and edit that many SFXs. But I stayed true to my promise and crunched down the file size… by a lot!! I’m not sure if you find the reduction in image quality noticeable, but if you’d rather it were higher quality at the cost of a few extra MB, please say so. After all, you’re the ones downloading it, not me ^^

~BIG NEWS: NEW SERIES REQUESTS!~
It’s probably stupid of me to even consider this, but I really really want to pick up another series or two. I already have one in mind but I was just wondering if anyone else has any suggestions.

Conditions:

• Must not be licensed in English.
• Must not have any other scanlation groups working on it. (Manga which have been dropped/abandoned and haven’t had releases in ages are fine though.)
• Must be shoujo.
• Should preferably have easily accessible raws or not be too difficult to translate/edit, though I can make exceptions on this one.

Please comment with your suggestions ^_^ I look forward to hearing them. If anyone suggests the manga I already have in mind I will be really happy… even though there aren’t any furigana (woe at my pathetic Japanese reading level!) I really want to have a go at it since it’s a good manga. I hope you’ll enjoy Chapter 51 of La Corda and look forward to Ch. 52 as well as any other series I may be releasing in the future! Anyway, today I finished translating Chapter 51 fully… Maybe it’ll be out by next weekend. (Tentative.)

I made a new credits page as well which will debut with Chapter 51. And from now on I also hope to reduce release sizes… the aim is to crunch down chapters to under 10MB. These days, 18MB seems a lot for a single manga chapter since a lot of groups average about half that, so I’m setting my sights on reducing it. It’s one of the few things that hasn’t changed much since I picked up La Corda, and I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so… (^o^’)

Soooo hopefully Ch. 51 won’t be too long in coming. If I could get it out before 52′s released in Japan, it would be a first, so I’d be happy. I hope you’ll look forward to it!

Phew. I’m worn out ;_; It’s nice to get a chapter out after so long though.

As for Chapter 51… who knows! Tomorrow I’ve got enrolment day, then on Wednesday Sixth Form starts. I hope to be able to continue the pace of about one release a month, to match the speed of new Japanese chapters, but it depends on how much homework I get ^^ (I’m really happy that other people who are entering Sixth Form are leaving comments though! Yay Year 12!)

My apologies that Chapter 50 is taking so long. I’ve been super busy – went to Italy for a week, got my GCSE results, trying to decide what AS Levels to take… blargh. School starts next week too. I had such a guilt trip about how I hadn’t done any work on Ch. 50 that I tried to repent by making a new banner >_> hope you like it though!! (Oh, and we’ve reached 6,000 hits! Yay~!)

As for Chapter 50, I pulled out all the pages ready for scanning and have translated up to page 10 so far… I’ve got the rest of this week to work on it so hopefully it’ll be out soon.

-We surpassed 3000 hits for this website a couple of days ago. It’s not very much, but I was quite happy ^^ Thank you to everyone who visits the site regularly.
-I received Chapter 50 a few days ago but haven’t started work on it yet. Let’s just say you’re in for a treat; there’s another double spread colour title page and it’s 50 pages long, which is a lot compared to the usual 30 or so (It’s going to take a while to scanlate though -_-’). I really don’t know when it’s gonna be out…

As for next chapter, I’m going to take a break for a few days then get scanning. Looks like I might be doing the editing for this one too. By then I hope to have my hands on Chapter 50… I’m quite excited ^^ Well, hope you enjoy this chapter, I’ll keep you updated on Ch. 49.

Chapter 48: scanning and translation is finished. Isabella’s having some computer problems so I’m gonna be editing instead. Expect this one out within the next two days (hopefully tomorrow).

Chapter 49: I already finished translating but I haven’t scanned it yet. Hopefully this one’ll be out in about a week.

The next issue of Lala, which contains the 50th chapter of La Corda, is coming out tomorrow (24th) in Japan, but I won’t get it until about five days after. I have a horrible suspicion that it’s going to be longer than usual because Chapter 50 is such a big milestone… great for readers, not great for scanlators >_>
